LeBron: ‘Thank you Northeast Ohio for an incredible 4 seasons’

LeBron James is once again a former member of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Fellow Laker Kyle Kuzma tweeted his welcome to Los Angeles.

Per LeBron's agency, Klutch Sports, James will sign with the Lakers on a four-year, $154 million deal, joining the team for the foreseeable future.

James has played 11 total seasons with the Cavs, pushing them to five Finals - counting the franchise's first trip in 2007.

The wait is finally over and a victor has been declared in the LeBron James free agency sweepstakes.

It was all different this time.

How much money will LeBron James make with the Lakers?

That's surely what the organization had to be thinking just hours earlier when it managed to secure the lone publicized free-agent meeting with James' camp, as a contingent went to L.A.to talk to his agent Rich Paul.

James and Bryant were Olympic teammates and there has been a perceived rivalry between the pair of alpha males.

In Los Angeles, James will not only be in better position to pursue his business interests and send his son to a basketball powerhouse high school, he will be able to play a role in creating a powerhouse of his own over the next few years. He already owns two homes in Southern California and has a film production company.

Last summer's stunning trade of guard Kyrie Irving left the Cavs without a quality running mate for James, who was forced to carry a heavier offensive load throughout the regular season and playoffs. The 33-year-old had previously said he wanted to finish his career in OH, and although he's leaving again, Cavs fans are more forgiving after he ended the city's 52-year sport title drought in 2016.

LeBron James is headed to the Los Angeles Lakers, and DeMarcus Cousins may soon follow. He thanked Cavaliers fans in an Instagram post, saying the city will always be his home. It would be hard to justify any bitterness on the part of fans in Cleveland.

James informed the Cavs on Friday that he was not exercising his $35.6 million option and becoming a free agent.

What is your reaction to James' latest free agency move? From there, Los Angeles would have some roster shuffling to do to add a key second piece.

James gave Cleveland something to remember in his final season.

The 33-year-old made a decision to opt out of the final year of his contract in Cleveland and will join the prestigious purple and yellow to play in the Western Conference for the first time.

In the end, James believed it was the right situation for him. James helped seal a Game 7 win with a chase-down block of Andre Iguodala, the signature moment of a career that has shown no signs of decay.

Houston took Golden State to seven games in the Western Conference finals back in May.

He is, however, a talisman for winning, both in Miami and with the Cavaliers, and his presence alone as the most singularly dominant player in the game turns the Lakers into a factor.
