The bloggers' observation follows several prominent pro-abortion Democrats, and even the nation's leading pro-abortion lobbying groups, denouncing the Trump administration over the scandal using language strikingly similar to what pro-lifers say about abortion. "While some people today are calling for the abolition of this great agency, in this White House, let me be clear we are with you 100% -and as the president said last night we will always stand proudly with the fearless hero's of ICE and Border Patrol", Pence said.

The White House is ramping up its defense of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, colloquially known as ICE, amid burgeoning calls from Democrats for the agency to be abolished.

Pence made his comments as the agency and the Trump administration are scrutinized for separating migrant children from their parents as they cross the U.S. -Mexico border. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) and Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), both of whom are considered potential 2020 presidential contenders.

Early on in the video, Lynette "Diamond" Hardaway blasted the "Dummy-crats" for "fighting in the streets hard to abolish ICE, but they did not fight to end slavery, to abolish slavery".

"It isn't just the expression of the radical left that has been speaking out against ICE".

Gillibrand has said ICE is not "working as intended" and said the criminal justice aspect of the agency should be separated from immigration issues.

Some Democrats have become anxious that those calls leave members of their party vulnerable to Republican attacks that they are weak on border security.

Pence highlighted ICE's accomplishments over the past year, which included the confiscation of nearly a million pounds of narcotics as well as the arrest of almost 5,000 gang members.

Shortly after Pence's speech, Nixon released a statement saying she considered criticism from the vice president "a badge of honor".

"The American people have the right to their opinions, but these spurious attacks on ICE by our political leaders must stop", Pence said. "ICE's mere existence causes many New Yorkers to live in daily fear that they will lose their family".
