Arsenal target Lucas Torreira's father says prospect of London move 'scares us'


Uruguay global midfielder Torreira is set to complete his £26.5m (€30m) move from Sampdoria today after travelling to London from Moscow.

Lucas Torreira is expected to undergo a medicinal tomorrow at the London training facility before he is finally unveiled as a gunner to the public, he is expected to be given a long-term deal which will see him earn £50,000-a-week wages.

Arsenal is now targeting Banega's Sevilla teammate Steven N'Zonzi who has handed in his transfer request, but the Frenchman may not be too keen on playing in the Europa League.

Football London claim Torreira is now due to fly to London from Russian Federation to undergo his medical with Arsenal as Emery wants the transfer wrapped-up as quickly as possible with pre-season preparations already well underway.

Calum Chambers has signed a contract extension at Arsenal, with new head coach Unai Emery saying Englishman remains part of his plans at the Emirates. However, the deal is believed to keep him at the Emirates until 2022, one year longer than a previous extension he signed last year.
