The New York Police Department has told The Associated Press that the 22-year-old, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was a passenger in a auto that was hit by another vehicle around 4.30am on Sunday in Brooklyn, New York.
That's when two armed men hopped out the auto, stole the driver's iPhone and dragged the rainbow-haired rapper to their vehicle, and sped off.
At one point, the vehicle returned to Tekashi's home, where two gunmen got out and allegedly stole more than $750,000 in jewelry, and between $15,000 and $20,000 in cash.
The initial report, given to TMZ by sources close to the rapper, stated that the 22-year-old pulled into his driveway where three armed men blocked his path and knocked him unconscious. They returned to his house, where one guarded him in the auto as the other two entered and stole the jewelry. There, they forced him to hand over his jewelry and between $15,000 and $20,000 in cash.
The rapper's baby mama and his daughter were inside the house but they were not hurt in the incident. We're told the gunmen then drove away with Tekashi still in the back seat.More news: Israel evacuates hundreds of Syria's White Helmets to Jordan
An ambulance picked him up and transported him to the hospital where he remains under observation.
Sources revealed that 69 was able to escape, but after reporting the incident he was uncooperative and later checked himself into hospital. Police say the rapper reports the men took an undisclosed amount of jewelry and left.
In June, Hernandez was arrested at John F. Kennedy Airport on a warrant for charges out of Texas related to an altercation at a shopping mall in Houston back in January.
After leaving the hospital, following the disgusting event, Tekashi spent the day celebrating his new collab with Nicki Minaj.
