Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer on administrative leave

Urban Meyer has been placed on paid administration leave.

Annual studies from Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus list it as college football's most valuable brand and, according to the Columbus Dispatch, the school trademarked the name "Urban Meyer" in 2015.

The Ohio-based restaurant chain said in a statement it would be suspending its "head breakfast coach" partnership deal with Meyer. At the time of the charge, Zach Smith's attorney said Courtney Smith had accused him of driving to her apartment after she told him they would meet elsewhere so he could drop off their son. "I said: 'That's fine, you should tell Urban.' I know Shelley did everything she could".

"I don't know if I was the first, but I know I was one coach who told the players up front: 'If you ever hit a girl or get any sort of domestic violence charge or sexual charge then you're finished.' " Spurrier said.

Former ESPN reporter Brett McMurphy posted on Facebook Wednesday that text messages between the wives of several assistant coaches in 2015 indicated Meyer was aware of the incident.

Ohio State revealed the objective of the group.

McMurphy obtained a series of photos sent by Courtney Smith to Shelley Meyer, Lindsey Voltolini and other wives involved in the Ohio State football program.

When Meyer found out he was being placed on leave, he accepted it.

The university said it will open an investigation into the allegations and offensive coordinator Ryan Day will serve as interim coach in Meyer's absence. The season starts September 1 with a game against Oregon State in Columbus.

While speaking with reporters at training camp, Apple described Meyer's administrative leave and the investigation as "unfortunate".

The group also will "be available to provide consultation and advice and assist with communication to the full board on the matter", the university said in a statement. He changed his mind soon after and coached another season. He was one of my coaches when I played.

"Well he is a good friend of mine and a good football coach", Whittingham said when asked rather unspecifically about his thoughts on Meyer.

That figure makes him not only the highest-paid state employee in OH, but the highest-paid public-school football coach in the United States.

Zach Smith's ex-wife alleges her ex-husband threw her into a wall when she was eight to 10 weeks pregnant in 2009. Zach Smith has denied the allegations.

Smith was sacked last week, three days after his ex-wife, Courtney Smith, filed a protection order against him. Zach Smith was charged with criminal trespassing and a protection order was filed. He pleaded not guilty, and a hearing is scheduled for Friday.

Meyer acknowledged last week that he had been aware of a 2009 domestic-abuse incident in Gainesville.

The Smiths separated in 2015 before another alleged incident happened in which Courtney Smith claims Zach choked her and shoved her against a wall with the couple's two children present. That is about all I can say right now. "I was never told about anything ... never had a conversation about it, so I know nothing about that". I know nothing about it.
