Huawei Mate 20 Pro priced at 1,049 euros, available in Europe now

The Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro look just like they did in all the leaks.

Speaking of design, the Huawei Mate 20X features a waterdrop notch approach, giving room to the screen to stretch out to all four corners of the display. Like the Mate 20 Pro, it will be powered by the company's latest HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor and come with 8GB of RAM.

The Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are also the first Huawei devices to ship with Android 9 Pie, overlaid with its EMUI skin, with a simpler interface and gesture navigation.

On track to ship 200 million handset to both domestic and global markets this year, Huawei surpassed Apple in global smartphone shipments in the second quarter of this year.

However, unlike its predecessor, the Mate 20 Pro placed its modules in the centre of its rear glass panel. Buyers will be able to choose between Emerald Green, Midnight Blue, Black, Pink Gold, and Twilight color options.

Along with the chipset, the devices in the Huawei Mate 20 series feature top-tier specs in most other categories.

Both smartphones contain Huawei's latest Kirin 980 processor chip, which has two neural processing units compared to one on the previous Kirin chip. There is a 4,000mAh battery under the hood, with support for new 40W Huawei SuperCharge technology.

The Leica-backed triple-rear camera setup on the Mate 20 includes a 16-megapixel sensor with ultra wide-angle lens (f/2.2), a 12-megapixel sensor with wide-angle lens (f/2.4) and an 8-megapixel sensor with telephoto lens (f/2.4) for 2X zoom and portrait mode. The triple rear camera of the smartphone is expected to consist of a 40Mp wide angle sensor, 20MP telephoto sensor and an 8MP ultra wide angle lens sensor.

The Mate 20 comes with a 6.53-inch LCD screen, whereas the Mate 20 Pro has a slightly smaller but higher-resolution 6.39-inch Oled display.

The Mate 20 is powered by the Kirin 980 - the first 7nm SoC in the world. It comes with IP68 water and dust resistance rating.

AI predictably remains a focus for Huawei, with its technology bettered and expanded, as is the Mate series' use as a camera. These sensors are coupled with LED flash and Super HDR.

The front camera is a 24MP sensor and it works with a 3D face unlock system to keep your phone secure. Place a Qi-compatible smartphone in direct contact with the Mate 20 Pro to charge this phone using the Mate 20 Pro's huge 4,200mAh battery.

A new neat feature in Mate 20 Pro is its two-way wireless charging feature that allows it to act like a charging pack for devices that support the Qi wireless charging standard. The smartphones also support up to 15W Qi-based wireless charging.
