Scaramucci on The View: Kelly has hurt morale in the White House

The package sent to CNN's New York City headquarters Wednesday forced the evacuation of the newsroom, prompting the network's president, Jeff Zucker, to condemn Trump's attacks on the media.

"There is a total and complete lack of understanding at the White House about the seriousness of their continued attacks on the media", Zucker said.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders talks to reporters outside the West Wing of the White House in Washington, Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018. "Thus far, they have shown no comprehension of that", Zucker said as the network's NY bureau was evacuated for five hours on Wednesday following the discovery of an explosive device sent there.

The package addressed to the former Central Intelligence Agency chief was sent to the Time Warner Center in Manhattan, which prompted CNN's NY bureau, housed within the building, to be evacuated. The targets included former President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Mr. Biden, former Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr., liberal billionaire George Soros, former CIA Director John O. Brennan and other prominent critics of Mr. Trump, none of whom was harmed.

CNN, often accused by President Trump of peddling "fake news", wasn't faking its outrage Wednesday over what appeared to be an attempted pipe bomb attack on the network.

Sanders released a statement earlier Wednesday saying the "cowards" responsible for the packages would be brought to justice.

"Look, there's a big difference between comments made and actions taken", stated the press secretary.

But Trump rebuked mainstream media outlets on Twitter Thursday and urged them to adhere to a higher standard of reporting in such a divisive political climate.

Hours after what the Secret Service described as "a potentially explosive package" was recovered at CNN's NY offices, similar to the ones sent to Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and George Soros, the head of the network released a statement that pointed the finger at President Trump and his administration.

Later, Sanders compared the incident to a supporter of Sen.

She was referring to James Hodgkinson, an unemployed former Sanders campaign volunteer who shot Republicans in June 2017 at a baseball practice, grievously wounding Majority Whip Steve Scalise and lobbyist Matt Mika.

Scaramucci, who's promoting a new book, said answers by the media and Trump's opponents to the president's untruthful statements have been ineffectual. The very first thing your network did was come out and accuse the president of being responsible for it.
