On the second day, which was again a weekday, the Hindi version of 2.0 had earned around Rs 18 crore, and on Saturday, day 3, it showed a 23.46 per cent growth, earning around Rs 25 crore at the box office.
Rajinikanth, Amy Jackson and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 was on Thursday leaked online by Tamilrockers, the notorious torrent website that hosts pirated copies of films. Rajinikanth has a double role in the film, which marks the return of Dr Vaseegaran and the robot named Chitti from the 2010 film Enthiran (Robot in Hindi). However, things did not seem to have worked out between them and then the role eventually fell into Akshay's lap. "He wrote, "#2Point0 remained strong on Day 2. Being a Saturday, the movie is expected to have done an unbelievable business with higher collections. The film opened to a bumper hit by collecting Rs 20 crore, according to Boxofficeindia.com.

The film is being shot simultaneously in Tamil and Hindi respectively.
Trade website Box Office India said the film was performing well in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, East Punjab, Bihar and Central India, all traditional territories where dubbed South Indian films struggle, thanks to the presence of Akshay Kumar, who plays the antagonist.
