The first teaser for the eighth and final season of HBO's Game of Thrones has finally arrived. The ice-coloured smoke then moves over the wolf (which represents Winterfell) frozen solid, then a Targaryen dragon. We see dragons being victims of ice (no more of that, we beg you) and proud Lannister lions being burned by fire. The network released a new teaser trailer today for the show's final season, one that doesn't contain any new footage, but just plays on the title of George R.R. Martin's novels, A Song of Ice and Fire, on which of course the show is based.

The teaser dropped after the Comic Con experience in Brazil, where creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss were on hand to greet fans. The show will bring some epic battle scenes, some gruesome deaths, and it will finally answer how Tyrion will carry on his life after knowing that Daenerys and Jon Snow are in some sort of a relationship.

"Game of Thrones" returns with six final episodes in April 2019.

Although the flagship series is ending, HBO has multiple projects set in the Game of Thrones universe now in development. The last few episodes will air in the United Kingdom in April 2019.
