We can also expect to see announcements for rumored games like Borderlands 3, Dragon Age 4, and even a new Alien video game named Alien: Blackout.

Keighley also told GamesIndustry.biz that there will be a "ton" of games that will be announced during the show and then launched straight after as a way to keep viewers further engaged. The games poised for the most awards include Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War and Marvel's Spider-Man.

The end of the year is upon us, which means it's time for another iteration of Geoff Keighley's The Game Awards. We know for sure Ancestors, the game from Assassin's Creed creator Patrice Désilets, will show new footage, as will BioWare's upcoming online shooter Anthem.

The Game Awards begin on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 8:30 p.m. EST. Though we we get a glimpse at the upcoming game, its release date is now "at least three years away".
