Unai Emery Gives Update On Arsenal's Chase For Barcelona Star

"I asked at Blackpool if he was OK to help us play and he said: "Yeah, coach, I want to play" and he played with a very big behaviour and commitment to us".

Suarez, who has played for Emery at Sevilla, was left out of Barcelona's squad for last Sunday's win over Getafe on Sunday night and wants to play for him again. But at the moment I don't have news on that.

Asked specifically about a move for Suarez, Emery said: "I don't know his situation now".

"We can't sign with payment, we can only loan players in this window", Emery told a press conference ahead of the game against West Ham United.

Juventus are reportedly close to agreeing a deal with Ramsey, who can leave for free in the summer when his contract expires or in January if a fee can be agreed, but Emery is pleased with the continued application of the 28-year-old.

Arsenal have won their last three Premier League games against the Hammers but Emery's side have struggled on the road in recent weeks.

Emery actually confirmed on Thursday that Arsenal are only able to sign players on loan this month, with permanent deals likely to wait until the summer. I can not say more about his situation.

And, Unai Emery will be relieved to have a number of players returning to his squad this week.

"My idea and focus, I say to him every day, is that we need his performance for us", he said. Every day he's here with us, he's working very well. Tomorrow we need to do the last training before the West Ham game.

He has previously said Ozil lacks the physicality to compete in tough matches away from home and West Ham should provide tough opposition at their London Stadium home. "This training session is important [to work out who can play]".

Defenders Hector Bellerin, Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi, Nacho Monreal and Dinos Mavropanos have also returned to training this week and in contention to feature.
