Much like Becky Lynch replacing Lana last minute in the women's Rumble, you'll find all the rest of the surprise entrants from both the men's and women's Royal Rumble matches below, including a few WWE Superstars you don't see anywhere on TV nowadays.
On Monday Night Raw, Becky Lynch named Ronda Rousey as her opponent for what could be the headline event at this April's WrestleMania. So, Ronnie, I've come looking for you. Rousey would later interfere and cost Lynch her SmackDown championship at the TLC pay-per-view in December.
This would give Charlotte a claim on the title match, a scenario carrying echoes of the 1997 Royal Rumble, which Steve Austin won despite being eliminated behind the backs of the referees. She wanted to defeat the "best version" of Becky Lynch. Meltzer notes that they do have a storyline in place to get Charlotte Flair in the match. Rousey responded by saying she has the ability to kill Lynch with her bare hands without breaking a sweat.More news: 'Harry Potter' Star Is Not Happy About Tom Brady's Trump Friendship
Rousey did not take that well and then faced down Lynch.
"At WrestleMania, I'm going to break your mystique", Lynch told Rousey. "I own the ground under my feet and I'm gonna own you at Wrestlemania".
This week's show averaged 2,703,000 viewers, a sign that people were interested in the Royal Rumble fallout. "I am going to take your title and I'm going to kick your ass in front of the whole world", Lynch said. WWE made the match official as the show went off the air.
