She did not take the stand. Kelly could have gotten 15 years in prison.

"A lot of the public already thinks he's guilty, and there is a very negative image of him, so the only thing he might think he can do is try to change their minds", Thiagarajah said.

Kelly was charged last month with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse pertaining to four women years ago, including three who were underage at the time. Kelly owes his ex-wife, Drea Kelly, $161,633 in back child support and the deadline to pay it is today, March 6, 2019, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Hours before he was taken into custody, Kelly lashed out at CBS' News Gayle King in an interview with "CBS This Morning" that aired on Wednesday. Kelly was in court after failing to pay more than $160,000 in child support. Kelly called his accusers liars and alleged that people are after him for his money. The charges were brought after seven women including his ex-wife, appeared on a Lifetime television documentary and accused him of emotional and sexual abuse.

Clary and Kelly both say this all comes down to money, and the parents don't really care. "I have been assassinated".

"Why would you take your daughter - if I were going to take my daughter and she's 19 years old to a 49-year-old icon whatever, celebrity, R. Kelly concert, whoever it is, I'm not going to put her on the stage and leave her". This is not me!' "I am in a happy place in my life and I'm not being brainwashed or anything like that".

R. Kelly claims the parents of his "girlfriends" have "sold" their daughters to him.

The recording artist has been trailed for decades by allegations that he violated underage girls and women and held some as virtual slaves. Cook County prosecutors charged him in 2002 with child pornography, saying he made a sex tape with his teenage goddaughter, but a jury acquitted him in a sensational trial in 2008. How come it was fine for me to see them until they was not getting no more money from me.

If convicted, Kelly is facing up to 70 years behind bars. The witness turned the tape over to authorities and identified the girl, who repeatedly states her age on the footage, according to court documents.

As part of his current case, Kelly is forbidden from having any contact with females younger than 18.

"I'm talking about the other cases where women have come forward and said: 'R".

Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary's talk with King was teased on Wednesday morning, with the clip showing the ladies visibly distraught while being questioned about their relationship with Kelly.
