‘Apex Legends’ Season 1, New Character Octane Arrive Tomorrow

Apex Legends kicks off its first cosmetic-driven season tomorrow - Wild Frontier. Players will be able to purchase the Wild Frontier Battle Pass from the in-game shop for 950 Apex Coins. There will also be a new Legend joining the game on Tuesday and, although it hasn't been officially announced, this new legend is expected to be Octane, a thrill seeker equipped with jump pads to help him navigate around the map. With it will come the game's first ever Battle Pass. You also unlock a basic Octane skin at level 48, on top of the three Legends skins you get by purchasing the pass. Season One will be titled "Wild Frontier", and will bring the first new Legend, Octane, along with a whole host of new skins and other content. Today, EA has finally lifted the lid on the Battle Pass, and that includes what's in it, and more.

Fans have less than 24 hours to wait before the next major Apex Legends update arrives on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Players who don't buy the Battle Pass can still earn some things, however; anyone who plays in Season 1 can earn 1 Wild Frontier Legendary Skin, 5 Apex Packs, and 18 Wild Frontier Stat Trackers, whether they have the Pass or not. But that will set you back 2,800 Apex Coins. You can check out all of the Apex Legends Season 1 Battle Pass rewards here. It seems Octane is available to play tomorrow, when we'll also see the arrival of Season 1.

We've added a Battle Pass progression bonus tied to playing a variety of characters, because we believe true mastery in Apex Legends means being a badass with anyone in any situation at any time. No other battle royale game has so readily captured my interest and kept me wanting to play.

The battle pass itself contains 100 tiers of further cosmetic rewards, culminating in a lovely silver-blue design for the Havoc energy rifle at tier 100.

The pass can be purchased at any time during the first season, and rewards will automatically unlock up to your current seasonal level, so you won't miss out on anything if you're late to the party.
