It expanded to the Pixel 2 and Pixel series past year, and now it looks like it'll soon be made available for Android One phones. Removing the Pixel 2 from its store could be a sign that the company is making room for a newer device.

So going forward, after you update to the April patch, your Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL should no longer flash at you every time it wakes from ambient display. Pixel 2s are still available from several third-party vendors.

Rumors have suggested it will either be called the Pixel 3 Lite or Pixel 3A. The snippet of information left by the Google developer says that he had to test it on a Pixel 3 because he didn't have a Pixel 4 - a hint to someone at Google we suspect that he feels he needs a Pixel 4 to continue to developer AOSP well for the upcoming Google flagship. In fact, as Android Police notes, you can get a Verizon-locked Pixel 2 XL for as little as $400 from Best Buy right now.

Google is no longer selling its Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones through its online store, with the listings for the devices removed from the platform. Once the old models sell out, they're gone forever. The Pixel 2 is a good phone.

Sadly, that only really happens for two kinds of phones: Google's own Pixels and Essential one and only PH-1.

About PHA installs from outside the Play Store, Google claims Android's Google Play Protect anti-malware system prevented 1.6 billion PHA installation attempts a year ago and stopped 73 per cent of PHA installs from outside the store, marking a 20 per cent improvement.
