Bucks Roll To NBA Eastern Conference Finals

The Bucks advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2001.

When the odds came out prior to Boston's Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Playoffs against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday, they were a bit surprising.

Antetokounmpo finished with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists.

The Bucks used balanced scoring and a stingy defense to eliminate the fourth-seeded Celtics, who had reached the Eastern finals against Cleveland each of the past two seasons.

Golden State almost gave it away with an bad third quarter, when the Warriors managed just 15 points and committed six turnovers.

Kyrie Irving's postseason shooting woes have been well documented and not something he's been exactly pleased to talk about after games.

After a promising Game 1 win in Milwaukee, Boston struggled to replicate their intensity on both sides of the ball over the next four games, with Irving quick to give the Bucks credit for adapting and taking control of the series from that point.

As he was in the previous three games, Irving was erratic, started out 2-of-12 as the Bucks built a double-digit lead. He has been nearing a return, but head coach Mike Budenholzer said the team is still evaluating him and will know more on Wednesday.

The Boston Celtics are expected to undergo serious changes over the offseason and frankly, could use them. After driving the Celtics to a win with an excellent Game 1 performance, Irving posted the following shooting lines: 4-of-18, 8-of-22, 7-of-22 and 6-of-21.

Marcus Morris is an unrestricted free agent. "We weren't ourselves. The next four games, we came out with a different approach, a different mindset".

"They showed all year why they were who they were", Irving told reporters in Milwaukee, as seen on NBA's postgame coverage.

The only surprise was that he didn't tear off his jersey when the game ended, the flawless I'm-outta-here visual, a la South Beach-bound James in 2010 after the Celtics eliminated his Cavaliers. It's what a 60-win team looks like. "For me, it's just moving on to the next thing, and just seeing where that ends up". "Giannis is known for intensity, a lot of charisma and I think this shirt encapsulates all that", said Michael Belot, Senior Vice President of the Milwaukee Bucks.
